Call for Papers
Agro-geoinformation, the agricultural-related geo-information, is the key information in the agricultural decision making and policy formulation process.
As a branch of geoinformatics, agro-geoinformatics is the science and technology about for handling digital agro-geoinformation, such as collecting
(including field visits and remote sensing), processing, storing, archiving, preservation, retrieving, transmitting, accessing, visualization, analyzing,
synthesizing, presenting, and disseminating agro-geoinformation. Recent advances in geoinformatics have created new opportunities and challenges in
applying agro-geoinformatics to agriculture monitoring and assessment.
The International Conference on Agro-Geoinformatics is an ideal venue for professionals and students to exchange ideas, research results, professional
experiences, to obtain the information about the latest developments and future vision in the fields of geoinformation science, remote sensing, and their
applications in agriculture. The Second First International Conference on Agro-Geoinformatics (Agro-Geoinformatics 2013), organized and hosted by the
Center for Spatial Information Science and Systems (CSISS) of George Mason University (GMU), will be held in Fairfax, USA on August 12-16, 2013.
The conference will include plenary, oral, and poster sessions. The topics of the conference are listed HERE.
All abstracts must be 300-500 words long and written in English. One author may present a maximum of two papers. Important dates are listed as follows:
- December 10, 2012: Abstract Submission System Open
- March 31, 2013: Abstract Submission Deadline
- April 10, 2013: Abstract Acceptance Announcement & Registration Open
- June 15, 2013: Early Registration Deadline
- July 5, 2013: Author Registration Deadline
- July 5, 2013: Full Paper (4-6 pages) Submission Deadline
- August 12-16, 2013: Agro-Geoinformatics 2013
All abstracts will be peer-reviewed to maintain high quality presentations. Conference content will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases.
Only papers presented at the conference by one of the listed authors, duly registered for the conference, will be retained in the proceedings. The extended version of selected papers
will be published as special issues at SCI indexed journals (Agro-geoinformatics special issue (Vol. 7, No. 5) of IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing (JSTARS)).
